Jose de la Torre Killed, One Hurt in Industrial Accident in Corpus Christi, TX

Corpus Christi, TX -- A tank explosion at a Haas-Anderson Construction site claimed the life of 53-year-old Jose de la Torre and left one person hurt Wednesday January 11, 2017.

Officials had yet to disclose the details of the deadly industrial incident. The report claims the explosion and ensuing fire took place at an asphalt plant, contained to a tank area. The fire reportedly took an hour to put out. Mr. Torre, the report implies, was killed at the scene of the incident. The injured victim, whose identity has not been revealed, has been hospitalized.

Representatives with the construction company had yet to make a statement regarding the incident.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal important details as it concludes.
