Jeff De la Fuente Killed in Train Accident in San Francisco, CA

San Francisco, CA -- A man killed in an incident involving a BART train in San Francisco Wednesday, January 4, 2017 has been identified as Jeff De la Fuente.

Sources say the incident happened about 6 p.m.

It appears Mr. De la Fuente fell upon the tracks near the 24th Street station, and was struck by a Bay Area Rapid Transit Train. The victim, a resident of Hayward, CA was partially conscious when he was pulled from beneath the train. The 31-year-old man survived the initial incident, but later succumbed to his injuries.

The exact cause of the deadly incident had yet to be determined at the time of the report.

Officials were examining the details in the hopes of discovering what occurred.

The press release regarding the incident provided no more information.
