Cyclist Injured in Truck Accident on Downsville Pike in Hagerstown, MD

Hagerstown, MD -- An unidentified cyclist was left with injuries in a collision with a dump truck in Hagerstown, MD Thursday, January 12, 2017.

Sources say the victim was riding an incumbent bike around 11:30 a.m. when the collision took place. It appears the injured rider was struck near the intersection of Downsville Pike and Progress Way. The victim, whose identity had yet to be released, was transported to a nearby hospital and was last listed in critical condition.

The exact cause of the incident is unclear.

Officials are investigating the details of the crash and hope to learn more as the investigation unfolds.
