Two Injured in Prairie Grove, AR, Head-on Accident on Highway 62

Prairie Grove, AR -- January 11, 2017, two people were seriously injured following a head-on accident where two vehicles crashed on Highway 62.

Prairie Grove Police and emergency crews rushed to the scene at around 7:00 a.m. The crash took place close to the Illinois River bridge.

According to reports, two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions along Highway 62 in the northeast area of Prairie Grove. At some point, the two vehicles crossed paths, and they crashed head-on. The crash caused one of the vehicles to burst into flames.

The drivers of both vehicles were extricated before the fire spread, and EMS transported both of them to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

At this time, authorities have not said what factors contributed to the accident. Investigations are ongoing.
