Melissa Normandin & Jacob Normandin Killed in Train Accident in Medical Lake, WA

Medical Lake, WA -- A train vs. passenger car collision left 45-year-old Melissa Normandin and 14-year-old Jacob Normandin dead in Medical Lake, WA.

The details of the incident are unclear, but the report claims the vehicle was struck by the train around Brooks and McFarlane Roads. It is unclear at this time exactly what transpired in the deadly incident. Officials with the Spokane Count Sheriff's Office say the incident was accidental.

The report made clear that the train that struck the mother and son belonged to BNSF.

The official investigation into the incident is currently underway.
