Two Injured in Temple, TX, 18-wheeler Accident on Airport Road

Temple, TX -- January 11, 2017, two people were injured following an accident where an 18-wheeler rear-ended multiple vehicles on Airport Road.

According to the Temple Police Department, the accident occurred at the intersection of Airport Road and Research Parkway.

Several vehicles were stopped at an intersection. As they waited, an 18-wheeler hauling pipes failed to stop at the intersection and crashed into the back of an SUV and another semi-trailer. A pickup was also somehow involved in the collision.

Following the crash, the drivers of the SUV and the pickup both sustained injuries which were referred to as non-life-threatening. They were taken to Baylor Scott and White for treatment.

Authorities say a gas tank was ruptured during the crash and spilled fuel onto the roadway. There was no fire, and the spill was eventually cleaned.

Currently, no additional information has been reported.
