Jay Boogerd Killed in Suspected DUI Accident in Summit, WA

Summit, WA -- A single-vehicle alleged drunk driving crash claimed the life of 24-year-old Jay Boogerd in the area of Summit, WA Wednesday, January 11, 2017.

Sources say the pickup truck containing Mr. Boogerd was traveling along Canyon Rd. when the incident happened. Investigators say the vehicle careened into a median, flipped over and killed the driver. Mr. Boogerd was reportedly ejected from the vehicle. It is believed he was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The cause of the incident is unclear.

Authorities are investigating the incident as alcohol related.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
