Kristen Gay Injured in Sidney, ME, Truck Accident

Sidney, ME -- January 10, 2017, Kristen Gay sustained injuries as the result of an accident that occurred where her car and a delivery truck crashed.

According to the Maine State Police, 21-year-old Gay was traveling northbound on Pond Road behind a Hammond Lumber delivery truck. The driver of the truck, William Gemelli, slowed down to make a left turn onto Milkweed Lane. Gay was unable to avoid the truck in time and her vehicle crashed into the back of it.

Due to the collision, Gay was trapped inside of her vehicle. Rescue crews came to the scene and were able to extract her from the vehicle. She was then taken to Maine General Medical Center. Her injuries were serious, but non-life-threatening.

Gemelli and his passenger were not injured. Authorities did not indicate any charges or citations resulting from this accident. No further information was reported.
