Worker Injured in Dearborn, MI, Crane Accident at Ford Plant
Dearborn, MI -- January 11, 2017, a worker at the Dearborn Diversified Manufacturing Plant was injured after he fell from a crane while working.
Emergency services were called to the Ford plant, located off of Schaefer Highway, at about 9:00 a.m.
According to preliminary investigations, the worker was a contractor working on the factory grounds atop a crane. Witness indicate the man may not have been wearing a safety harness. At some point while working, he lost balance and fell from the crane nearly 50 feet.
The man suffered serious injuries from the fall. EMS officials took him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
At this time, OSHA and internal authorities are investigating the accident. No further information has been reported.
