2 Injured in Burleson, TX, Rollover Accident on FM 2738

Burleson, TX -- January 7, 2017, two women sustained injuries as the result of an accident where their vehicle lost control on FM 2738 and overturned.

Burleson and Johnson County officials responded to the accident scene along FM 2738, east of town.

According to preliminary reports, two women were traveling down the roadway in a car. For reasons that have yet to be made clear, their vehicle lost control and swerved off the roadway. The car then flipped over repeatedly before coming to a stop on a nearby lawn.

An 85-year-old man that lived at the property assisted the two women in escaping the vehicle as a fire began to spread. They were able to get to safety, where they awaited emergency services to take them to a hospital. Reports say the women suffered serious injuries, but are in stable in condition.

It's not clear what factors contributed to the accident. No further information is currently available.
