Man Injured in San Antonio, TX, Dual 18-wheeler Accident on Loop 410

San Antonio, TX -- January 9, 2017, a man was injured following an accident where two 18-wheelers collided with each other on Loop 410.

According to report released by the San Antonio Police Department, the incident occurred just after noon near the intersection of S W. W. White Road.

Authorities indicate that as two 18-wheelers were driving down southbound Loop 410, one of the trucks came into contact with debris in the roadway. It is not clear exactly what the debris was or where it came from. The debris caused the truck to collide with the second 18-wheeler, and both trucks crashed onto the side of the highway.

Following the accident, one of the truck drivers was trapped inside of his vehicle. Emergency services were able to extricate the driver, and they transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-critical injuries. It would appear no other motorists were injured.

Police did not indicate any citations resulting from the wreck. They say the crash remains under investigation.
