Man Killed in Accident on Highway 27 in Davenport, FL

Davenport, FL -- A pedestrian vs. vehicle incident on Highway 27 in the area of Davenport, FL claimed the life of an unidentified man Sunday, January 8, 2017.

It appears the man's vehicle sustained damage in a multi-vehicle crash about 5 a.m. When the victim got out to check the damage his vehicle sustained, he was struck by another passing vehicle. There was no mention if the man was killed at the scene of the incident. The exact cause of the collision had yet to be determined by authorities.

Officials are currently conducting the investigation and hope to reveal more details as it unfolds.

The preliminary press release, due to the immediacy of the incident, provided no more information.

The victim's identity has not been disclosed.
