Ryan Hollingshead Injured in Irving, TX, Car Accident

Irving, TX -- January 6, 2017, FC Dallas player Ryan Hollingshead was injured following an accident where he was hit by a vehicle.

Authorities reported that the accident occurred in the afternoon hours of Friday. Roads were beginning to ice over at the time.

Hollingshead, a professional soccer player for local team FC Dallas, was reportedly providing assistance to motorists who had been involved in a prior accident. As he was outside the vehicle, another vehicle apparently crashed into him, throwing him to the roadway.

Hollingshead sustained three fractured vertebrae as a result of the accident. He was taken to a hospital for treatment and is still recovering from the ordeal.

At this time, authorities did not say if any charges or citations resulted from the accident. No further information has been reported.
