Anthony W. Fickes & Edna Mikos Killed, Wayne Mikos and Two Others Hurt in Accident in Newberry, PA

Newberry, PA -- An alleged DUI accident claimed the lives of Anthony W. Fickes and Edna Mikos and left Wayne Mikos and two others hurt in the area of Newberry Twp., PA Saturday, January 7, 2017.

It appears an SUV containing Mr. Fickes was on Old Trail Road when it crossed the center line, colliding with a second SUV. Mr. Fickes was reportedly ejected from the vehicle, and was killed at the scene of the incident. 66-year-old Edna Mikos, a passenger in the second vehicle, was also killed at the scene of the crash.

Wayne Mikos, the 69-year-old husband of Edna, and two teens sustained serious injuries.

The report says a five-year-old was also seriously injured in the collision.

The cause of the incident is unclear, but police say they believe alcohol was a factor.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
