Roy Albert Pierson Injured in Accident in Hardin Co., TX

Hardin County, TX -- Police have identified the logging-truck driver injured in a collision on State Highway 327 Monday, January 9, 2017 as Roy Albert Pierson.

Officials say Mr. Pierson was headed east on Highway 327 about 9:30 when the incident occurred.

The report claims the 2001 Peterbilt log-truck veered off the roadway, colliding with a group of trees in a nearby wooded area. Officials say the victim required extrication from the crashed vehicle. Mr. Pierson was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries described as serious, but non-life threatening.

The official investigation is currently underway.
