Iosif Plazinskiy Killed in Truck Accident in Brooklyn, NY

Brooklyn, NY -- Police officials have identified the victim in a bike vs. truck collision in Brooklyn, NY on Monday, January 9, 2017 as Iosif Plazinskiy.

It appears the 69-year-old bicyclist was riding in the area of Brooklyn's Sheepshead Bay about 5 p.m. when the incident took place. Mr. Plazinskiy's bike was riding alongside the truck, when the truck reportedly clipped the bike. The initial collision threw the victim from the bike, and in the following moments, Mr. Plazinskiy was rolled over by the truck tires. The victim was transported to a local hospital, but later succumbed to his injuries.

Officials are currently conducting the investigation.

The media report, due to the immediacy of the incident, provided no further information regarding the crash.
