Man Killed in Fort Worth, TX, TRE Train Accident on Beach Street

Fort Worth, TX -- January 9, 2017, a man was killed as the result of an accident in which he was struck by a Trinity Railway Express Train on Beach Street.

Fort Worth Police officials report that the fatal incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. just north of I-30.

According to their preliminary investigations, who has yet to be identified, was walking in the area of the railway. It's currently unclear whether he was crossing the tracks or walking along them. As he did so, a TRE passenger train drove through and struck the man.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. It's not clear why the man did not notice the train.

Authorities say the accident is still under investigation.
