Woman Killed in Amarillo, TX, Go-Cart Accident off Morning Dr.

Amarillo, TX -- January 7, 2017, a woman sustained fatal injuries following an accident in which her go-cart crashed on a property off of Morning Drive.

According to investigators from the Amarillo Police Department, the incident occurred at a residence located in the 4000 block of Morning Drive, just north of Hastings Avenue.

Their preliminary investigations indicate that the woman was driving a go-cart around the property. She was the only person in the vehicle at the time. As she drove, the vehicle hit a large bump, causing the cart to go airborne and flip over.

During the crash, the woman was ejected from the vehicle, sustaining critical injuries. Emergency services were called to the scene, and they rushed the victim to a nearby hospital for emergency care. She was eventually pronounced deceased from her injuries.

At this time, it is not exactly clear what particular factors contributed to the accident. Police officials continue their investigations.
