Pedro Topete Killed in Truck Accident in Sublimity, OR

Sublimity, OR -- A two-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer left 35-year-old Pedro Topete dead in Sublimity, OR Thursday, January 5, 2017.

Sources say Mr. Topete's vehicle was headed west on the highway when it was involved in a collision with a passing tractor-trailer. Mr. Topete was reportedly killed at the scene of the incident. John Illingworth, the driver of the big rig, was unhurt in the crash. An area of the highway between Silver Falls State Park and the Cascade Highway was closed for hours following the collision.

The official investigation into the deadly incident is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
