Man Killed in Truck Accident on Interstate 435 in Kansas City, North

Kansas City, North -- A passenger vehicle vs. tractor-trailer on Interstate 435 claimed the life of an unidentified 21-year-old man Saturday, January 7, 2017.

Sources say the vehicle containing the victim--a Toyota Camry--for reasons unclear collided with a semi-truck. The Camry reportedly was lodged beneath the tractor-trailer when emergency crews arrived. The cause of the incident had yet to be determined. The report claims the incident left a portion of the highway closed for several hours to allow the clean-up and investigation processes to begin.

There was no mention of other injuries related to the incident.

The victim's identity has not been revealed pending notification of next of kin.

The official investigation is currently underway.
