Roma Tate Injured in Jonesboro, AR, Pedestrian Accident

Jonesboro, AR -- January 5, 2017, Roma Tate was critically injured due to an accident in which he was hit by a vehicle while crossing the road.

Officials from the Jonesboro Police Department report that the accident occurred just before 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Red Wolf Boulevard and Race Street.

According to preliminary reports, 58-year-old Tate was attempting to cross traffic lanes of Red Wolf. As he did so, a southbound Chevy Silverado did not avoid him in time, striking him in the roadway.

As a result of this collision, Tate sustained critical injuries. EMS rushed to the scene, and they transported him to St. Bernards Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the Silverado, Michael Steinnegger, currently does not face any citations or charges. It's unclear if any are being considered.

Authorities say that the crash remains under investigation.
