Teen Killed, Two Hurt in Nocona, TX, ATV Accident off Highway 82

Nocona, TX -- January 7, 2017, a teenage girl was killed, two other minors injured, following an accident where their ATV was hit by a pickup off US 82.

The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the accident, which occurred around 12:45 p.m. about one mile west of town.

A 16-year-old girl and two unidentified minors were riding an ATV in the vicinity of the highway. It is unclear exactly where in relation to the road the kids were driving. As they did so, a pickup collided with the ATV, ejecting the riders from the vehicle.

As a result of the collision, the 16-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two minors had critical injuries and were both taken to Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth via helicopter.

Authorities have not said what exactly caused the crash. It is unclear if any charges are being considered at this time.
