Jeffrey K. Chalk Killed in Accident in Killington, VT

Killington, VT -- An incident at a ski resort claimed the life of 53-year-old Jeffrey K. Chalk at a ski resort in Killington, VT Saturday, January 8, 2017.

Mr. Chalk--a gondola mechanic at the resort--was reportedly found by a fellow employee. It appears the victim was working on a catwalk when he slipped, tumbling 13 feet to the concrete floor below. The cause of death is unclear, but official say the victim likely sustained a serious head injury. The official cause of death had yet to be determined, however.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal important details as it unfolds.
