3 Injured in Forney, TX, Rollover Accident on US Highway 80

Forney, TX -- January 6, 2017, three people were injured following an accident in which the van they were in overturned on US Highway 80.

Emergency response teams were called to the scene of the accident around 3:15 p.m. near the intersection of US Highway 80 and FM 460.

According to their preliminary investigations, a passenger van was traveling westbound on Highway 80 at the time when the vehicle suddenly lost control. This caused the van to swerve across traffic lanes and onto the shoulder, where it overturned.

Due to the incident, at least one person required extrication from the vehicle. That person and two others were taken to Dallas Regional Medical Center for treatment. Their injuries were not specified.

It's unclear exactly what caused the accident. Icy conditions may have played a role. Investigations are ongoing.
