Christopher James Oakland Killed in Work Accident in Belfield, ND

Belfield, ND -- An industrial incident at an oil field in Belfield, ND claimed the life of 24-year-old Christopher James Oakland Wednesday, January 4, 2017.

The report claims Mr. Oakland was working at the well site when the shack he was in burst into flames. The exact cause of the incident is unclear, but officials say the victim was found some time later in the rubble. Officials say they received a call of an explosion prior to the incident, but it is unclear if the two events are related.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
