Mark Jay Schnoor Killed in Truck Accident in Portland, OR

Portland, OR -- An incident involving a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of 54-year-old Mark Jay Schnoor in Portland, OR Sunday, January 8, 2017.

It appears Mr. Schnoor had pulled his vehicle to the side of I-205 for reasons unclear. The report claims his vehicle was in the emergency lane with its hazard lights on when the victim stepped out of the vehicle. Mr. Schnoor was on the driver's side of his vehicle when he was struck by a passing semi-truck.

Mr. Schnoor was killed at the scene of the incident.

The exact cause of the incident is unclear.

The official investigation is ongoing, and authorities hope to learn more as it concludes.
