Man Injured in Houston, TX, Accident at I-45 and Shepherd

Houston, TX -- January 4, 2017, a man suffered injuries as the result of an accident in which two vehicles collided on I-45 near Shepherd Drive.

Houston Police were called to the two-vehicle accident scene at around 11:30 p.m. Their preliminary reports indicate that a man in a pickup was driving down the interstate when another vehicle somehow crossed paths.

The two vehicles crashed, and the collision caused the pickup to rollover on the highway. The other vehicle continued off of an exit ramp and pulled over somewhere off the highway. Police say that person was located after they arrived, though it is unclear if that driver was attempting to leave the scene or was simply pulling off the highway.

The man in the pickup suffered injuries, including a broken leg. EMS extracted him from his damaged vehicle and transported him to a nearby hospital. His current condition is not known.

Authorities did not say if charges or citations resulted from the accident. Their investigations are ongoing.
