Woman Injured in Corpus Christi, TX, Rollover Accident on SPID

Corpus Christi, TX -- December 31, 2016, a woman was critically injured due to an accident in which her vehicle lost control and crashed on SPID.

Corpus Christi officials indicate that the accident occurred just before 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of South Padre Island Drive and Staples Street.

According to preliminary police reports, a woman was traveling eastbound on the highway at the time. For reasons unclear, her vehicle lost control and veered off the side of the roadway. As a result, the car crashed into a guardrail.

This collision caused the vehicle to overturn repeatedly. The woman was ejected from the vehicle during the incident, sustaining critical injuries in the process.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, and they transported the woman to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Memorial in critical condition. Current reports say she remains under medical care.

Authorities have not yet determined what caused the accident. Their investigations continue.
