Alan Lirette Killed in Travis County, TX, Motorcycle Accident

Travis County, TX -- December 27, 2016, Alan Thomas Lirette was killed following an accident where his motorcycle crashed off the side of the road.

Austin-Travis County emergency crews responded to the accident scene at around 5:25 a.m. The say the accident occurred south of Austin along FM 1626.

60-year-old Lirette was driving a motorcycle eastbound down the roadway. For reasons that aren't entirely clear, the vehicle left the side of the roadway. Before Lirette could stop, the motorcycle crashed into a signpost. Lirette was ejected from the bike onto the ground.

Lirette was critically injured in the accident. Emergency services pronounced him dead at the scene. No other motorists appear to be involved.

Authorities have not yet indicated what factors may be involved in the fatal crash. At this time, their investigations are still underway.
