2 Injured in Houston, TX, Car Accident at Gessner & Loyel Pointe

Houston, TX -- January 3, 2016, two people sustained injuries as the result of an accident in which two cars crashed on Gessner Road.

Harris County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating the accident that occurred at the intersection of Gessner Road and Loyel Pointe Drive around 11:30 p.m.

According to their preliminary reports, a white car was traveling down Loyel Pointe when it turned onto southbound Gessner. This caused the car to cross paths with another southbound vehicle. The second vehicle crashed into the back of the white car. As a result, a small fire broke out and began to engulf the vehicles.

All occupants were able to escape the vehicles before the fire caused serious harm. Two people from the second vehicle were taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

Authorities say they are investigating if alcohol was involved in the accident. No confirmations have been reported at this time.
