Donna Gilbertson Killed, Robert Gilbertson Injured in Accident in Paradise, CA

Paradise, CA -- A two-car collision claimed the life of Donna Gilbertson and left Robert Gilbertson with minor injuries in Paradise, CA Sunday, January 1, 2017.

Officials say the pair were headed south on Coutolenc Road in a Toyota Corolla when it encountered a Chevy Silverado. The two vehicles then collided, killing Mrs. Gilbertson and leaving Mr. Gilbertson with minor injuries.

The driver of the Silverado, 54-year-old Eva Prinz, was reportedly uninjured in the incident.

Officials had yet to determine a cause of the incident, but say they believe poor road conditions may have contributed. The report also claims the Gilbertson's vehicle was traveling at excessive speeds.

The investigation into the deadly crash is currently underway.

The report provided no further information at the time of its release.
