Woman Injured in San Antonio, TX, Single-Car Accident at Hwy 281 & Summerglen

San Antonio, TX -- December 30, 2016, a woman was injured due to an accident in which her vehicle somehow lost control on Highway 281 and crashed.

San Antonio Police investigators responded to the incident which occurred around 1:00 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 281 and Summerglen Way.

According to reports, a 22-year-old woman was driving her car down the highway. She had no other passengers. For reasons that are not clear, her vehicle lost control and went off the side of the roadway. As a result, it crashed head-on into a pole.

The vehicle began to catch fire, and the woman was unable to leave the vehicle. A witness rushed over and was able to pull the woman from the flaming vehicle.

EMS arrived on the scene, and they rushed the woman to the hospital. At this time, her condition is not clear.

Authorities did not say what factors may have contributed to the accident. They say that the accident remains under investigation.
