3 Hurt in San Antonio, TX, Asleep-at-the-wheel Rollover Accident

San Antonio, TX -- January 3, 2017, three people sustained serious injuries following an accident where their vehicle rolled over on I-10.

San Antonio police and emergency personnel responded to the single-vehicle accident scene at around 11:40 p.m. It occurred south of the Loop 410 interchange near Fresno.

According to preliminary investigations, a vehicle carrying three people was traveling down the interstate. For reasons that are not clear, the vehicle lost control and veered across traffic lanes. Off the side of the road, the car crashed into a concrete barricade and flipped over.

The driver and his two passengers were all transported to University Hospital for treatment. Injuries appeared serious, but each person's specific condition was not clarified.

Authorities say they suspect the driver might have fallen asleep at the wheel. No confirmations have been made at this time.

Investigations are ongoing.
