Beaumont, TX: Man Hurt in Accidental House Fire at 4400 Woodlawn Avenue

Beaumont, TX -- A house fire at 4400 Woodlawn Avenue in Beaumont, TX left an unidentified man with minor injuries Wednesday, January 4, 2017.

Sources say that the house fire took place in just one room of the house. The report claims the man broke through a window, but was unable to leave because the burglar bars outside the window obstructed his escape route. The man was able to flag down firefighters, however. The cause of the fire is unclear, but officials say they believe it may have started near a water heater.

The official investigation is currently underway, and authorities hope to learn more as it concludes.

The preliminary media report provided no further information at the time of its release.
