Mitchell John Sauter, Daniel B. Holle & Cynthia L. Holle Injured in Accident near Scranton, PA

Scranton, PA -- A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 left Mitchell John Sauter, Daniel B. Holle and Cynthia L. Holle hurt in Scranton, PA Sunday, January 1, 2017.

Mr. Sauter's vehicle reportedly turned off the southbound lanes, crossed the cross-median U-turn, and ended up in the path of a gas-tanker. The tanker and passenger car collided in the northbound lanes of the interstate. Mr. Sauter's vehicle then struck a guardrail, and subsequently collided with a Toyota Corolla.

Mr. Sauter sustained severe injuries.

Daniel B. Holle, one of the occupants of the Toyota, sustained minor injuries. A second occupant of the Toyota, Cynthia L. Holle, sustained moderate injuries in the crash.

Officials are analyzing the details of the incident in an attempt to determine the cause of the collision.
