Man Killed in US 40 Middle River, MD Truck Accident

Middle River, MD -- A pedestrian vs. semi-truck collision claimed the life of a 50-year-old man on US 40 in Middle River, MD Wednesday, January 4, 2017.

It appears the eastbound semi-truck collided with the unidentified man walking along US 40. The man was transported to Franklin Square Hospital, where he was declared dead by officials. The deceased victim's identity had yet to be identified pending notification of next of kin. The incident left a large portion of the highway closed for several hours.

Investigators are still poring over the details of the incident to determine the cause of the collision.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.

Early media reports provided no further information regarding the deadly collision.
