Woman Injured in San Antonio, TX, Car Fire Accident on Hwy 281
San Antonio, TX -- December 30, 2016, a woman was injured due to an accident in which her vehicle crashed off of Highway 281 and caught fire.
Bexar County officials responded to the accident scene around 1:30 a.m. It took place near the intersection of Highway 281 and Summer Glen.
According to early reports released by police investigators, a woman was driving down Highway 281 in a car. For reasons unclear, her vehicle lost control and hopped a curb. The car then crashed into a traffic pole, causing it to catch on fire.
She was able to escape the fire when emergency crews arrived, but she suffered serious burns. EMS transported her to University Hospital. No other people were hurt in the accident.
At this time, it's unclear what factors contributed to the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
