Hays County, TX -- January 2, 2017, Jose Ortiz-Perez and Olivia Flores were killed, four others injured, following a head-on collision on the highway.

Texas DPS investigators responded to the fatal accident scene around 7:00 p.m. on Texas Highway 21. The crash occurred along the Hays-Caldwell county line.

According to DPS preliminary investigations, 33-year-old Ortiz-Perez was traveling down the highway in the opposite direction of 45-year-old Flores's vehicle. Somehow, the vehicles crossed paths with each other, crashing head-on into each other. The vehicles lost control and went off-road.
