3 Injured in Kemp, TX, School Bus Accident on Highway 175

Kemp, TX -- January 4, 2017, a bus driver and two others sustained injuries following an accident where a bus and another vehicle crashed on Highway 175.

Kemp emergency personnel were called to the accident scene at around 7:00 a.m. close to the intersection of Highway 175 and FM 4021.

According to their reports, a Kemp ISD bus for special education students was traveling westbound on the highway. For reasons that are not clear, the bus collided into a passenger vehicle that was also westbound on the highway.

Following the collision, EMS came to the scene and examined those involved in the accident. None of the seven students on the bus were injured, and neither was the adult bus monitor. The bus driver and two occupants from the passenger vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries. EMS took them to local hospitals for treatment.

Authorities did not say if anyone was cited for the accident. Exact details of the collision were not released.

Investigations are ongoing.
