Man Dies in Dallas, TX, Single-vehicle Accident at I-20 & TX-408

Dallas, TX -- January 4, 2017, a man was killed as the result of an accident in which his vehicle lost control on the highway and crashed into a ditch.

According to preliminary reports from the Dallas Police Department, the accident occurred around 1:15 a.m. at the I-20 and TX-408 interchange.

Authorities indicate that a 21-year-old man was driving a Chevy Cobalt eastbound on I-20 when his vehicle somehow lost control and veered off of the roadway. Before he could regain control, the Cobalt crashed into a concrete drainage ditch. This caused the vehicle to become airborne, where it overturned before landing.

The driver was ejected in the crash and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have yet to say what caused the accident. Investigations are ongoing.
