Andrew Rawson Killed in Flower Mound, TX, Bicycle Accident

Flower Mound, TX -- December 28, 2016, Andrew Rawson was killed as the result of an accident where he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle.

According to reports released by Flower Mound Police investigators, 25-year-old Rawson was riding his bicycle at the intersection of Gerault Road and Big Canyon Drive at around 6:00 p.m.

Investigators say that Rawson crossed several lanes of traffic as he was riding down Gerault. In doing so, his bicycle crossed paths with a vehicle, and the two crashed into each other.

Reports say Rawson wasn't wearing a helmet at the time, and he sustained a critical head injury as a result. He was taken to Parkland Hospital via helicopter for intensive care. His injuries proved fatal, and he was eventually pronounced dead.

Authorities did not issue any charges or citations following the collision. The driver was cooperative with investigators.
