Stanley Sloan Killed in Accident in Marion County, IA

Marion County, IA -- An incident involving a tractor-trailer on Highway T-17 in Marion County, IA claimed the life of 46-year-old Stanley Sloan Monday, December 2, 2017.

The 6 p.m. collision took place nearly a mile north of Highway 5 as Mr. Sloan's northbound semi-truck lost control. Sources say the rig failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway. The semi's trailer went into a ditch, forcing the truck to flip over and roll. Mr. Sloan, the driver of the tractor-trailer, was killed at the scene of the crash.

Mr. Sloan was reportedly a resident of Harvey, Iowa.

Officials have yet to determine the cause of the crash.

Early media reports regarding the crash provided no further information at the time of its release.
