Lucia Galvan Killed in Laredo, TX, Single-Vehicle Accident

Laredo, TX -- December 30, 2016, Lucia Galvan was killed as the result of an accident in which her vehicle lost control and crashed.

Laredo Police and emergency personnel were called to the accident scene in the early morning hours of Friday along Cuatro Vientos Boulevard.

According to their preliminary investigations, 24-year-old Galvan was traveling southbound on the highway in a passenger vehicle. As she drove, the vehicle somehow lost control and veered across traffic lanes. The car hopped the median and careened into northbound traffic lanes. This caused the vehicle to overturn several times before eventually coming to a stop.

Galvan was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the crash. Reports did not specify the condition of her passenger, 34-year-old Gonzalez.

At this time, it's still unclear what might have caused the accident to occur. Authorities continue their investigations.
