One Killed, One Hurt in Accident on I-35 in Troy, TX

Troy, TX -- Officials have yet to identify the two victims involved in the tractor-trailer vs. pickup collision on I-35 in Troy, TX Sunday, January 1, 2016.

Officials claim the pickup containing the two victims, a 59-year-old man and a 56-year-old female, was left disabled on the shoulder of the roadway. It was then, for reasons unclear, a tractor-trailer crashed into the pickup. The man was reportedly killed at the scene of the incident. The female passenger was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured in the incident.

The victims had yet to be identified.

The official investigation is currently underway.

The preliminary media report provided no further information at the time of its release.
