Man Killed in Truck Accident on Interstate 205 in Portland, OR

Portland, OR -- An unidentified man was killed in a pedestrian vs. truck collision on Interstate 205 in Portland, OR Sunday, January 1, 2017.

The deceased victim for reasons unknown reportedly parked his vehicle on the side of the roadway, and was subsequently struck after exiting his vehicle. The exact cause of the incident is unclear, but police say the driver of the semi has been cooperative in the investigation. The deadly incident left a portion of the interstate closed for several hours.

The victim's identity had yet to be disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.

The preliminary media report provided no further information at the time of its release.
