2 Injured in Truck Accident on U.S. 131 in Kalamazoo County, MI

Kalamazoo County, MI — January 9, 2024, two people were injured in a truck accident at some point in the afternoon along U.S. Highway 131.

According to authorities, a 49-year-old man was traveling in a southbound 18-wheeler along U.S. 131 approaching the U Avenue intersection when the accident took place.

At a stop for the red light at the intersection in front of the 18-wheeler was a pickup truck with a car-hauler in tow. For reasons yet to be confirmed, the 18-wheeler was allegedly unable to stop, resulting in a collision with the back of the pickup truck. The 43-year-old man who had been an occupant of the pickup truck and the 49-year-old from the 18-wheeler were both transported to a local hospital for treatment of the allegedly non-life-threatening injuries they incurred as a result of the crash.
