Colton Joseph Duhon Injured in Car Accident on Wise Rd. in Jefferson County, TX

UPDATE (February 8, 2024): The man who was injured as a result of this accident has been identified as 20-year-old Colton Joseph Duhon, of Hamshire.

Jefferson County, TX — December 17, 2023, one person was injured in a car accident just after 12:45 in the morning along Wise Road.

According to reports, a 20-year-old man was traveling in a southbound Kia Optima along Wise Road in the vicinity of the McCall Road intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that the Kia was traveling at speeds allegedly too high to safely navigate a right-hand curve in the road. As a result, the vehicle left the east side of the roadway where it entered a ditch, collided with a concrete culvert, a mailbox, and a second culvert. At that point, the Kia reportedly rolled onto its left side where it finally came to a stop. The 20-year-old sole occupant of the Kia sustained suspected serious injuries as a result of the crash; he was taken to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment.

The accident is under investigation by local authorities. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time.
