Pedestrian Injured in Truck Accident on Jackson St. in Sulphur Springs, TX

Sulphur Springs, TX — December 13, 2023, a pedestrian was injured in a truck accident shortly before 3:45 p.m. along Jackson Street.

According to reports, the accident took place inside a building used to weight 18-wheelers and their trailers on Jackson Street near the Houston Street intersection.

A 60-year-old man was allegedly beneath the trailer of an18-wheeler working on maintenance of some sort when someone entered the vehicle and drove it forward toward the parking lot of the facility. This maneuver caused the pedestrian to be run over by the trailer. The 60-year-old victim reportedly sustained severe injuries as a result of the accident. He was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment.

The accident is under active investigation by local authorities. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of those involved—are not available at this point in time.
