1 Killed, 1 Injured in Truck Accident on U.S. 281 in Three Rivers, TX

Three Rivers, TX — October 24, 2023, one person was killed and another was injured in a truck accident just after 9:30 p.m. along U.S. 281.

According to reports, a 73-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman—whose identities have yet to be confirmed—were traveling in a southbound Buick Lacrosse in the right hand lane of U.S. 281 approaching the Good Hope Road intersection when the incident occurred.

For unknown reasons, an 18-wheeler was wrong-facing in the inside southbound lane of the highway with its trailer blocking the outside lane, as well. The Buick collided with the back left of the trailer. The man in the Buick was killed as a result of the collision; the female passenger incurred severe injuries. She was taken to a local medical facility by emergency medical facilities in order to receive treatment. There were no other injuries reported in connection with this incident.

The accident is still under active investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions at the time of the accident were reportedly clear and dry. There are not currently any additional details available pertaining to this incident.
