Daniel Dwayne Lewis Injured in Truck Accident in Menard, TX

Menard, TX — November 3, 2023, Daniel Dwayne Lewis was injured in a truck accident at about 4:45 in the evening along U.S. 83.

According to reports, 86-year-old Daniel Dwayne Lewis was traveling in a Toyota Camry at the intersection of U.S. 83 and the private drive of a cemetery just north of First Street when the accident occurred.

Allegedly, the Camry was attempting to make a left turn into the northbound lanes of U.S. 83 from the private drive when, for unknown reasons, it collided with a southbound 18-wheeler. Lewis reportedly sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive immediate care. There were no other injuries reported in connection with this incident.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the incident were reportedly clear and dry. No additional information is currently available.
